Well, I didn't realize she did NOT change her name. She was born as Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone on August 16, 1958 in Bay City, Michigan.
You would think that Madonna is a stage name. But it's not! Her real name is Madonna Louise Ciccone. Her Mother’s name was Madonna Louise also and she was of French Canadian decent. Her Father, Silvio “Tony” P. Ciccone, was Italian. So there you have it Madonna is her real name.
Madonna's most recent album Hard Candy - a hip hop/R&B-influenced collaboration with Pharrell Williams, Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and Danja - was released worldwide on April 28th and in the US on April 29th.
This album is the last studio album under her contract with Warner Brothers Records, followed by a compilation album that will most likely feature two new songs to be released on September 2009.
